Exporting report data
Previous  Top  Next

This screen allows you to export payroll report data in form of a text file. You can import this text file into a 3rd party payroll software or any other application such as Microsoft Excel, for example. To create a file, adjust the different settings and press the Export To File button. You will then be asked where you would like to save the file with the exported data.

Export Header, Body and Footer
By unchecking any of these checkboxes, you can limit the amount of data that will be exported. To export just the time punches and hours, choose to export the report body only. The elements of the header and footer will not be exported.

Export File Format

Comma delimited file
Produces a text file (.csv) where fields are separated by a comma. Such files can be opened by any standard spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.

Tab delimited file

Produces a text file (.txt) where fields are separated by a "tab" space.

Append pay period to file name
By checking this box, the name of the created file will look like this:
"John Smith from dd-mm-yyyy to dd-mm-yyyy.csv"
This makes it easier to know the pay period of the data it contains. If you uncheck this box, the name of the file will include the employee's name only.
Example: "John Smith.csv"

Date format
Specifies the date format that will be used for all dates inside the exported file. The default format is mm/dd/yyyy. "Long Date" and "Short Date" settings are dependant on the regional settings of your computer. They can be specified in your Windows Control Panel.

Punch time format
Specifies the time format that will be used to display all punch IN and OUT entries inside the exported file. The default format is hh:mm. "Medium Time" and "Short Time" settings are dependant on the regional settings of your computer. They can be specified in your Windows Control Panel.
