Below is a list of common problems you could experience when trying to use LionClock's QuickBook's synchronization:

·Error 20821
·Error 20817
·Error 20111
·Error 20811
·Error 611
·Error 20652

What to do if you get "Error 20821: A QuickBooks internal error has occured." ?

This error usually means that LionClock tried to connect to QuickBooks too quickly before a previous connection was finished. Usually, you will get connected after trying again a few more times. Sometimes, the only reliable way to get rid of this problem is to restart the computer that has QuickBooks installed. In most cases, this error only happens if QuickBooks is not opened. Running QuickBooks with your company file opened is the best way to solve this error.

What to do if you get "Error 20817: This feature is not enabled or not available in this version of QuickBooks." ?

This error usually means that time tracking is disabled in your QuickBooks company file's preferences. You need to enable it by following these steps:

1) Open your QuickBooks company file and go to the Edit - Preferences menu.
2) Select Time Tracking from the list on the left.
3) Switch to the Company Preferences tab
4) Answer Yes to the question "Do you track time" as shown on the screenshot below.
5) Close and re-open QuickBooks and your QuickBooks company file
6) You should now be able to export time entries from LionClock without any problems

What to do if you get "Error 20111: Invalid value for QBConnectionString." ?

Please update to the most recent version of LionClock to fix that error.

What to do if you get "Error 20811: This employee is set to have activities transferred to paychecks. Activities for this employee must have a payroll item." ?

There are a few ways to fix this, depending on your scenario:

1) If you are running LionClock Pro, version 4.12 or earlier, you will need to upgrade to a newer version. 4.12 and earlier did not support Quickbooks Payroll Items.

2) Ensure that you have created payroll items in Quickbooks, and then synced them with LionClock Pro.

3) Finally, please ensure you have authorized LionClock to see and modify personal information. See Error 611, and scroll to the section about Permissions. Ensure that you check the box allowing LionClock to access personal data (the third checkbox in the screenshot provided).

What to do if you get "Error 611: Automatic login access denied. If automatic login is required, the QuickBooks administrator may grant permission through the Integrated Application preferences." ?

LionClock can synchronize time entries with QuickBooks even when QuickBooks is not currently running and your company file not opened. However, the very first time you connect to QuickBooks from LionClock, QuickBooks needs to be running with your company file opened. The very first time, QuickBooks will ask you a cofirmation that you really allow LionClock to make further connections automatically. Therefore, you need to select the last option when you see this confirmation screen:

qb certificate for lionclock

If you missed that screen or selected the wrong permissions, you can also go to

1) In QuickBooks, go to the Edit - Preferences menu
2) Select Integrated Applications from the list on the left.
3) Switch to the Company Preferences tab, as shown below:

qb company preferences for integrated apps

4) For each entry named LionClock, use the Properties button and set the permissions as shown below:

What to do if you get "Error 20652: Unable to connect to QuickBooks Online. Could not obtain final session ticket." ?

qb_error_20652

You will see this message only if you use the Online Edition of QuickBooks. This is not actually an error, but just a message saying that your Login Key has expired and that you need to get a new one. Refer to instructions in "Step 9" on how to obtain a new Login Key.
